Keeping Weight Loss In Mind

Writen by Frank Renner

How often do you think about what you want to look like? Not what clothes you wear or the style of your hair, but what shape and size your want your body to be. If you find yourself struggling with weight loss, it may not be often enough.

Succeeding in losing weight can be as easy as changing how you think about you. Scientists have discovered that using the power of the imagination to visualize your goals have produced greater real world results that simply exercising and a strict diet. Those who visualize their new body create a physiological connection between their body and mind resulting in a much greater chance of success then those who do not. It may be the easiest and most important exercise in your regime.

So how does it work? The first step in reaching your goals is to write down everything you want in vivid detail. How much you weight, what you want your measurements to be, how long you can run, anything you wish to achieve write it down. Putting your thoughts on paper will increase your minds connection to your goals and help to remind you of what specifically you want. Place that list out in plain view so you may re-read it frequently and reinforce those ideas in your mind. Better still, take a couple of copies with you and place them where you are sure to see them often throughout the day. Every time your eyes fall on the list, read it. Let your mind paint the picture of a thinner and healthier body. Let your imagination take over.

The key is to be as detailed as possible with your self-vision. Visualize looking down at the scale and seeing smaller numbers. Feel your hand run down your six-pack abs, imagine how it feels gliding over the bumps. See yourself in your mind purchasing a new set of stylish clothes or swimsuit. Feel yourself trying on the clothes and looking at yourself in the mirror with your new body. Pour over that image in your mind as long as you can and sear it in your brain.

Soon the vision will become second nature and a part of your sub-consciousness. The physiological connection will begin to re-program your mind and body into believing that vision to be you. You will notice a difference in the effectiveness of your diet and workouts almost immediately. And before you realize it, you are no longer imagining those things; they are who you have become.

Finding Hair Loss Treatments That Fit Within Your Budget

Writen by Peter Crump

Hair loss treatments can be very expensive and although most people want to try to regain their full head of hair they cannot afford them. There are surgical measures for hair loss treatments that could cost as much as $9000 and this cost is not covered by any health insurance plan.

This is because the doctors that perform this treatment are classed as plastic surgeons and the procedures are not necessary for a healthy life. The important thing when considering any type of hairloss treatments is to visit your doctor to make sure that there is no underlying medical cause.

There are five main types of hair loss treatments. These include treatments for thinning hair as well as baldness treatments. You should carefully evaluate each one to determine the pros and cons of each and to see whether or not it suits your lifestyle and budget. These treatments are:

· DHT inhibitors
· Products that stimulate hair growth
· SOD – super oxide dismutase
· Anti-inflammatory medications
· Antiandrogens

Baldness treatments such as DHT inhibitors and other products used to help you regrow your hair are by prescription from the doctor only. However, you can save money when you purchase these hair loss treatments because they are available from online pharmacies.

This does not mean that because they are online they are readily available. You still need to send in a copy of the prescription that you can scan and send as an attachment. For security measures when you place an order online for any of these hair loss treatments, the pharmacy you choose will contact the doctor to verify the prescription. When that is done, the hairloss treatment will be shipped to your address. Although it may take a little longer than handing in the prescription at the local pharmacy, you will get the treatments you need cheaper. No matter what kind of treatment the doctor prescribes, you will be able to get what you need at an online pharmacy.

Just because you're losing your hair and need hair loss treatments, doesn't mean that you have to lose all your money in the process.

Hair loss treatments can be expensive, so shop wisely.

Laugh Factor

Writen by Jolene Schwartz

"The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed!"

The Latin word for laughter is ridiculus, and the ability to see the ridiculous in others, and ourselves is truly a gift. Humor brings balance, it isn't merely about telling jokes … it's the way we view the world.

Laughter brings health benefits too; it dissolves tension, stress, anger, grief, irritation, and depression. A sense of humor can help you rise to any challenge, handle the unexpected, accept the inevitable, and come out of most any difficulty with a smile; after all if you can laugh at it, you can live with it.

Medical research has found that laughter boosts the immune system, reduces hormones associated with stress and reduces pain by releasing endorphins that are more potent than equivalent amounts of morphine. You knew that, right?

Develop your sense of humor and you will become a better communicator, more productive, and have more friends, because everyone loves someone who makes them laugh. Laughter keeps an audience alert and responsive; the adrenaline accompanying laughter helps fix information in your memory, except in the case where you're so busy laughing you don't hear the punch line.

The benefits of laughter are too numerous to ignore, now is the time to consciously STOP, and start to make an effort to laugh. Here's a hint: and it should go without saying that at first, you'd best laugh with people and not at them (unless they are significantly smaller than you). Another hint is laughter starts with a smile … seldom does uproarious laughter emerge from a RAGING face.

Don't wait until you are sick of yourself before beginning to practice Laughter, and you don't need to start with total immersion by signing up for Clown College 101. You can sneak up on laughter by renting comedy classics from the video store, borrowing humorous books from the library, attending comedy clubs, watching comics on TV, and practicing jokes on co-workers and total strangers.

In the beginning, it is NOT recommended that you practice your sense of humor with family and friends because … they never forgive and never forget! Ha ha.

Precautions When Using Raw Juices

Writen by Grata Young

Certain precautions are, however, necessary in adopting an exclusive diet of raw juices. Firstly, all juices should be made fresh immediately before drinking. Canned and frozen juices should not be used. It will be advisable that one should have one's own juicer for extracting fresh juices.

Secondly, only fresh ripe fruits and vegetables, preferably organically grown, should be used for extraction of juices.

Thirdly, only as much juice as needed for immediate consumption should be extracted. Raw juices oxidise rapidly and lose their medicinal value in storage, even under refrigeration.

Fourthly, the quality of the juices has a distinct bearing on the results obtained. In case of incomplete extraction of juices, their effective power is proportionately reduced due to the absence of the vitamins and enzymes which are left behind in fibre and the pulp.

Finally, if juices are too sweat they should be diluted in water on 50 : 50 basis or mixed with other less sweet juices. This is especially important in some specific conditions such as diabetes, hypoglycemia, arthritis and high blood pressure.

Fruit and vegetable juices may be divided into six main types. These are:

(i) Juices from sweet fruits such as prunes and grapes.

(ii) Juices from sub-acid fruits like apple, plum, pear, peach, apricot and cherry,

(iii) Juices from acid fruits like orange, lemon, grapefruit, strawberry and pineapple.

(iv) Juices from vegetable fruits, namely, tomato and cucumber.

(v) Juices from green leafy vegetables like cabbage, celery, lettuce, spinach, parsley and watercress.

(vi) Juices from root vegetables like beetroot, carrot, onion, potato and radish.

Generally speaking, fruit juices stir up toxins and acids in the body, thereby stimulating the eliminative processes. Vegetable juices, on the other hand, soothe the jaded nerves and work in a much milder manner. They carry away toxic matter in a gentle way. Owing to their differing actions fruit and vegetable juices should not be used at the same time or mixed together.

It is desirable to use juices individually. In any case not more than three juices should be used in any one mixture.

Precor Treadmills Exercise Equipment You Can Trust

Writen by Dean Iggo

Precor treadmills are synonymous with quality. They have been in the fitness industry for over 20 years and have invested millions into research and development to provide the best quality machines. All their treadmills have long warranties which are a testament to their quality.

Just go down to your local gym and you are bound to see a number of Precor treadmills being battered continuously for hours a day. Just think...if they are good enough for these commercial gyms then you can guarantee that they will stack up in your own home gym.

Although super high quality, Precor treadmills are also quite expensive. You will be lucky pick one up for much less than $3000 so if you are trying to buy a treadmill on the cheap then this may not be the best option for you.

However if you consider all the advantages you get with the trusted Precor brand, you'll understand why they price these machines as such.

Advantages

Precor treadmills are backed by one of the best warranties around. They offer lifetime warranties on their treadmill frames and welds, 10 years on parts and a year on labor. They use the highest quality materials and their customer testimonials are superb. This just shows how confident the company is with the quality and durability of their treadmills.

Aside from quality, Precor treadmills are also known for being loaded with features. They have powerful motors, wide running surfaces and are very quiet.

Disadvantages

The price is the only disadvantage I can see with these machines. I feel that $3000-$5000 is a lot to pay for a treadmill to be used at home. I believe the Precor name increases the purchase price and unless you are a dedicated runner, have money to spare or know you are going to be using the treadmill often then it might be more than you need.

Some people also say that it is too big. However I feel this is one of its benefits as it adds stability and a long, wide running surface.

Recommendation

Precor manufactures probably one of the highest quality treadmills in the market today, which they back up wholeheartedly as can be seen by the length of their warranties. So, I would recommend buying Precor treadmills but only if you could afford one. It is one of the best in the market right now but at the same time it is also one of the most expensive.

Acne Know How It Forms And Get Clear Skin

Writen by CD Mohatta

Acne forms near the opening of the sebaceous glands that have hair follicle in them. In normal circumstances, the cells that form the wall of the gland should exfoliate from the pore opening. In certain circumstances these cells become dysfunctional and instead of exfoliating normally, block the pore opening.

In the meantime, the glands keep producing sebum and if hormonal disturbance is present the glands produce sebum at a higher rate. This sebum keeps filling the gland sack and the bacteria called Proprionobacterium acnes (P. acnes) thrive in the atmosphere that is full of sebum and no air. As the bacteria flourishes, the gland gets infected.

At this stage when the bacteria are flourishing and causing inflammation, the gland is producing more sebum and the pore is blocked, the gland becomes very infective and full of dead cells, bacteria, pus and dead skin. This is what we call as a papule or a cyst. The acne grows through different stages and this is the last stage after which the gland ruptures.

Thus acne is not a single stage disease but many causes join together to progressively increase the intensity of acne formation. Teenagers get more acne because the hormonal balance of their body changes during that period. The hormone androgen is normally responsible for accelerating the production of sebum.

Doctors try to intervene during the process of formation of acne and its growth and try to prevent formation of cyst that may scar the skin forever. The same hormonal disturbance is responsible for acne outbreak in some women during their menstrual cycles.

Vagus Nerve Stimulation Should Be Used Early In Treatment When Traditional Antidepressants Fail

Writen by Charles Donovan

Lifetime Prevalence of Depression and the Age-of-Onset Report Distributions of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders(DSM) in the National Comorbidity Survey Replication

The paragraph title sounds complicated, but the study conclusions are critical and simple to understand. Lifetime prevalence estimates are as follows: anxiety disorders, 28.8%; mood disorders, 20.8%; impulse-control disorders, 24.8%; substance use disorders, 14.6%; any disorder, 46.4%. Median age of onset is much earlier for anxiety (11 years) and impulse-control (11 years) disorders than for substance use (20 years) and mood (30 years) disorders. Half of all lifetime cases start by age 14 years and three fourths by age 24 years. Later onsets are mostly of comorbid conditions, with estimated lifetime risk of any disorder at age 75 years (50.8%) only slightly higher than observed lifetime prevalence (46.4%).

Lifetime prevalence estimates are higher in recent cohorts than in earlier cohorts and have fairly stable intercohort differences across the life course that vary in substantively plausible ways among sociodemographic subgroups.

Conclusions: About half of Americans will meet the criteria for a DSM-IV disorder sometime in their life, with first onset usually in childhood or adolescence. Interventions aimed at prevention or early treatment need to focus on youth and young adults. The earlier the disease is treated, the better chance for a successful recovery. If traditional antidepressants do not provide adequate relief from depression , vagus nerve stimulation therapy is a powerful yet relatively simple procedure.

Primary Pulmonary Hypertension

Writen by Jennifer Bailey

Every year an estimated 300 new Primary Pulmonary Hypertension cases are diagnosed. Statistics say that out of every 100,000 people, 8 people become vulnerable to this malady. Women between ages 20 and 40 years are the most prone to it--women seem twice as much at risk as men.

Essentially, Pulmonary Hypertension is a rare disorder of the blood vessels wherein the pressure in the pulmonary artery (leading from heart to lungs) rises above normal levels. When this Pulmonary Hypertension arises without any known cause explaining its occurrence, it is named as Primary Pulmonary Hypertension.

Some common symptoms of this disease are chest pain, shortness of breath and fatigue even with minimum exertion. A number of unknown causes or diseases may lead to this serious malfunctioning. Though the name of the disease is given by a single term, Primary Pulmonary Hypertension, it encompasses a number of causative factors, all of which are unknown.

It is strange but true that, although the complications associated with the disease are understood, the exact cause of the disease is yet to be discovered. Studies carried out in this regard have, however, indicated that certain appetite suppressants (like Pondimin and Redux, known as Fen Phen) can increase a person's chances of developing this fatal condition. It has been theorized that this can be inherited as a mutation of the BMPR2 gene. Cirrhosis of the liver, stimulant abuse and HIV infection are also considered close associates (though not conclusively considered causatives) of this condition.

Historical records of Primary Pulmonary Hypertension present a gloomy picture, whereby the disease proves to be chronic and incurable, and the survival rate is very poor. On average, life expectancy of patients after confirmation of the disease was, till recently, 30 months. Complications relating to the disease claim the lives of 125 to 150 people in the U.S. every year.

New treatments, however, offer hope. Today, a variety of treatments have come to be available for prevention or treatment of Primary Pulmonary Hypertension and its complications.

Primary Pulmonary Hypertension provides detailed information about primary pulmonary hypertension, cause of primary pulmonary hypertension, primary pulmonary hypertension attorney, primary pulmonary hypertension complication and more. Vitamins For Youth Health And Healing Check Out Vitamin E

Writen by Bob Benson

Vitamin E is one of the natural antioxidants, proven to help your body fight several health problems and to fend off some of the natural signs of aging. Severe deficiencies of Vitamin E are rare, though some people may not be getting the full recommended daily allowances of many vitamins, including Vitamin E.

There are two recent advances in the understanding of Vitamin E that could ultimately impact a reduction in the tendency for some people to experience heart problems and cancer. Studies are still inconclusive and there seems to be several opinions as to the ultimate outcome of the benefits of Vitamin E to seriously impact these two major health concerns. Whether Vitamin E will ultimately become a viable treatment for those at high risk for heart disease and cancer remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, the benefits of Vitamin E as an antioxidant to help fight aging continue to be touted. Vitamin E supplements are also prescribed in some cases to help those adults at risk for developing cataracts.

Some manufacturers of cold sore medications include Vitamin E to help speed the healing process. A combination of Vitamin E and aloe vera seems to be a very popular remedy that many claim to be very effective in the treatment of severely chapped lips, cold sores and minor infections.

Two groups of people seem to be most at risk for low levels of Vitamin E in the body. Some people have trouble absorbing all fat-soluble vitamins and may show symptoms of deficiencies of several vitamins, including E. Babies who are born prematurely may also be at risk for some time following birth. Some other factors may play a role, including the tendency toward extremely poor eating habits and even some genetic disorders.

Oils tend to be high in Vitamin E with sunflower oil being near the top of that list. A single tablespoon of sunflower oil may provide up to a quarter of the daily recommended allowance for Vitamin E. Corn oil is another viable source. Peanuts, sunflower kernels and almonds are also good sources of this important vitamin.

While there are many uses and effects of sufficient daily consumption of Vitamin E, there continues to be a focus of using Vitamin E as an anti-aging agent. Nearly a decade ago, results of studies indicated that this vitamin slowed the aging process in laboratory experiments. Today, anti-aging creams and cosmetics often include Vitamin E.

Balancing Prostaglandins For Acne Control

Writen by Robert Kokoska

There are two main groups of hormones that are neccessary to balance if you want to effectively treat and cure your acne.

The first type of hormones, androgens, are responsible for the regulation of sebum (skin oil). Your body creates acne when you have too much sebum mixed with other elements such as toxins in the blood and dead skin cells that clog up the skins pores.

Bacteria breeds in the blocked pores which create redness, inflammation and swelling which is your acne.

Prostaglandins are hormone-like substances which are produces in cells as chemical messengers. Prostaglandins are the important hormones that are responsible for inflammatory and anti-inflammatory responses in the cells otherwise known as 'good' and 'bad' prostaglandins.

So the question is, how does someone regulate prostaglandins hormones in the body?

Most people lack the nutrients the body needs to produce enough 'good' prostaglandins while on the other hand produce too many of the 'bad' type which is why acne sufferers more often than not have inflammed, red and sore spots on their faces that take longer than normal to reduce.

ALA (alpha-linolenic acid) which is an Omega 3 essential fatty acid is the precursor to 'good' prostaglandins. Most americans are simply deficient in Omega 3 efa's.

Most animal products and household oils have very high amounts of Omega 6 efa's but very little if any Omega 3. Omega 6 is the building block for 'bad' prostaglandins.

Two of the best sources of Omega 3 acids are in fish oil and flax seed oil. Flax seed oil is great because it has a 2-1 ratio of Omega 3 which is good to counter the inbalance of these EFA's people have had most of their lives.

It would be a good idea to take enzymes with these oils to make sure they are broken down and utilized properly. Considering most americans also have an enzyme deficiency it would be a wise decision.

Alternatively, you may want to take flax/fish oil capsules with fruits that are high in enzymes such as bananas, papaya, pineapple, figs and kiwi fruit.

One of the biggest theifs of prostaglandins is stress. Smoking and other things that create free radicals, attack the chemicals that are used in the biosynthesis of prostaglandins.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To effectively treat your acne, you need to fix the problems in your body that are causing your acne. Acuzine is a great product that attacks the main, internal causes of acne.

The Vitamin That Prevents Cancer

Writen by Christopher Stewart

A recent review of more than 40 years of research has found that a daily dose of vitamin D could cut your risk of colon, ovary, and breast cancer by as much as 50%. Cancer authorities in both the UK and USA are stating that swift action is needed by public health agencies to boost the blood level of vitamin D in the general population.

The study published in the online version of the American Journal of Public Health, assessed scientific research published on cancer and vitamin D since the 1960's

Many research studies have shown that a lack of vitamin D may have far reaching and possibly lethal effects. Vitamin D has been shown to have a vital role in protecting ourselves from heart disease, cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, lung disease, schizophrenia, and multiple sclerosis.

Our bodies make Vitamin D by the action of sunlight on the skin. When you are exposed to the ultraviolet rays from the sun, your skin is able to synthesize vitamin D cholecalciferol (D3) which is stored by your body in fat for subsequent use. Your body will only store vitamin D for about 60 days.

This creates about 90% of the body's supply of Vitamin D. Unfortunately with the growing use of sunscreens as well as less time spent outdoors there is now a growing problem of vitamin D deficiency. African Americans require a longer time in sunlight as the melanin in their skin acts as a natural sunscreen.

US cancer scientists are recommending a daily dose of 1,000 international units (IU's) of vitamin D for adults. Vitamin D supplements are available at most drug and health food stores. A 90 day supply should not cost more than about ten dollars, and the health benefits will be priceless.

American Health Care Industry Why Innovation Is So Difficult

Writen by Andy Mann

Healthcare industry presently in United States is in miserable condition, the delivery of treatment to consumers is often inefficient, ineffective and consumer unfriendly. The problems in the sector had been well documented and they range from medical errors, which by some estimates contribute around 8 percent of all deaths in United States, soaring cost of health care administration, the amount of time one get an appointment with the physician and inadequate facilities.

Why there are no innovations in the industry to improve it

Despite enormous investments in innovation and magnitude of the opportunity for the innovators, not many people are willing to invest in the industry. The reasons are numerous but one of the primary reasons is failing of too many efforts. Not many companies have able to translate their paper plan in the real world. One example of a massive failure is, managed care revolution that ended up loosing $40 billion of investors' money into biotech venture and into endeavors of achieving economies of scale to fragmented physician practices.

How we can improve present state of American health care industry

The idea of universal coverage is in rounds in public domain for years now, and there are no signs that Bush administration will take such restructuring of the system. The second solution to the problem is to focus on particular areas rather than solving the problem at once. These areas can be chosen carefully by the company according to its expertise and core competency. Some of the areas to focus which companies can zero down on are –

Innovations in the delivery of health care can result in more convenient, effective and less expensive treatments for today's time stressed and increasingly empowered health care consumers.

New Drugs, diagnostic methods and drug delivery system can offer the hope of better treatment and care at lesser cost.

Healthcare is still astonishingly fragmented industry and integrated health care activities can increase efficiency, improve care and save consumer time

Acne And The Changes In Girls During Puberty

Writen by Kay Smith

During puberty, girls go through many changes some physical and some psychological. These changes include fat distribution, menstruation, body composition, body and facial hair growth, growth spurts, skin changes and body odor. During puberty the body physically changes as the fat tissue increases in the breasts, hips, and thighs, producing the typical female shape. With all these changes in girls during puberty, what effect does acne have on girls during this difficult and emotional time?

Acne can increase the physical and emotional stress that girls experience during puberty. The severity and likelihood of acne is one of the many changes in girls during puberty due to the increased oil secretions in the skin. Mood swings, increased irritability and feelings of low self esteem can also be experienced by girls during puberty. Even girls who have been self confident can suffer from low self esteem when puberty starts.

These changes in girls during puberty can be more severe if she also suffers from acne. There are steps you can take to help lessen the problems of acne, which may help girls during this difficult time.

Practical Acne Treatments For Girls…

Proper skin care is the first step in dealing with acne. There are many skin care products on the market that may help with acne. Gently washing the face twice a day is the first place to start. Be sure to select a cleanser that contains salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide or sulfur, as they kill the bacteria that cause acne. Gentle cleansing is important so don't wash too often or scrub the face with harsh cleansers.

It is also important to use non-comedogenic products when trying to control acne. Non-comedogenic products are less likely to cause acne, blackheads or block the pores of the skin. Hairloss Treatments And Types

Writen by Paton Jackson

Many people ask us what is the most effective hairloss treatment. Well, like any good question there is more than one answer. Hairloss is probably the most discussed health condition. We all experience hairloss. Only that some experience it in earlier stages of their lives. But not all hair losses were born equal. There are different types of hairloss and for each there are several possible hairloss treatments:

1. Androgenetic alopecia – This is the most common type of hairloss - Also known as male pattern hairloss (or female pattern hairloss). This type of hairloss is related to the effects of genetics. The cause for this hair loss type is the production in the body of a chemical called DHT. The production of DHT causes the hair follicles to shrink and gradually damages the hair growth process to the inventible permanent hairloss. There is a wide selection of hairloss treatments for the male pattern hairloss - most of them claim to lower the amount of DHT. There are pills like the FDA approved Propecia (also known as finasteride) and natural hairloss treatments like Revivogen or Advecia. Other types of hairloss treatments for people that suffer from male pattern baldness are hair transplant surgery or medical hair restoration.

2. Temporary hairloss – Also known as telogen effluvium. In those cases hair will regrow within a few months. The most common temporary hairloss is called Alopecia Areata – A loss of hair small patches. Temporary hairloss can also be a result of certain medication or medical treatments like Chemotherapy. Unfortunately, there are no reliable hairloss treatments for theses cases.

3. Anagen Efluvium – This hairloss type refers to permanent hairloss caused by damages to the hair structure. It could be a result of a psychosomatic condition like stress or of medical condition as diabetes, thyroid disorders, immune disorders etc. The hairloss treatments for theses cases should be decided by a doctor according to the medical condition. In some cases where there is no available hairloss treatment people choose to wear hats or wigs.

It is important to realize that in most of the cases hairloss could be prevented and stopped using the proper hairloss treatments. So, don't wait for miracles. Stop you hairloss.

Essential Tips For Proper Food Combining

Writen by Chris Guerriero

As any student of chemistry will assure you, acids and bases (alkalis) neutralize each other. If you eat a starch with a protein, digestion is impaired or completely arrested! The undigested food mass can cause various kinds of digestive disorders. Undigested food becomes soil for bacteria, which ferment and decompose it. Its by products are poisonous, one of which, alcohol, is a narcotic that destroys or inhibits nerve function. It plays havoc with nerves of the digestive tract, suspending their vital action such that constipation may well be a result! These are the salient rules for proper food combining.

The Basic Rules of Proper Food Combining:

1. Eat acids and starches at separate meals. Acids neutralize the alkaline medium required for starch digestion and the result is fermentation and indigestion.

2. Eat protein foods and carbohydrate foods at separate meals. Protein foods require an acid medium for digestion.

3. Eat but one kind of protein food at a meal.

4. Eat proteins and acid foods at separate meals. The acids of acid foods inhibit the secretion of the digestive acids required for protein digestion. Undigested protein putrefies in bacterial decomposition and produces some potent poisons.

5. Eat fats and proteins at separate meals. Some foods, especially nuts, are over 50% fat and require hours for digestion.

6. Eat sugars (fruits) and proteins at separate meals.

7. Eat sugars (fruits) and starchy foods at separate meals. Fruits undergo no digestion in the stomach and are held up if eaten with foods that require digestion in the stomach.

8. Eat melons alone. They combine with almost no other food.

9. Desert the desserts. Eaten on top of meals they lie heavy on the stomach, requiring no digestion there, and ferment. Bacteria turn them into alcohols and vinegars and acetic acids.

The Poop On Colonics And Colon Hydrotherapy

Writen by Lee Dobbins

Taking care of the colon seems to be a popular trend in health these days. While many in the medical and alternative medicine fields are saying that most disease and illness starts in the colon, there has been a huge demand for information on how to clean and care for this vital organ.

The job of the colon is to absorb water and minerals as well as eliminate the waste or feces that is no longer needed by the body. Some say that a healthy colon will produce 2 or 3 bowel movements a day, shortly after eating. Unfortunately many people do not take proper care of their colons and suffer constipation and illness.

Colon hydrotherapy is becoming a popular way to clean out the colon so that it can function properly. A series of colon cleanses can remove encrusted fecal matter that has been sitting around in your colon for years as well as parasites that can hinder digestion and absorption of minerals.

If you plan to add colonics to your health routine, you should make sure that you see a therapist that is certified and recommended by your doctor. It is important that you follow a course of treatment that is under the supervision of a trained medical person as colon hydrotherapy is serious business. In addition, you will want to make sure you start to eat healthy so that you can keep your colon in tip top shape once your treatment is over.

A colon hydrotherapy session can last up to 45 minutes. During this procedure, a speculum is inserted into the rectum and the colon is filled with water via a tube attached to the speculum. Fecal matter is expelled through a hose leading back to the machine. It is important that you use an experienced hydrotherapist as they will know exactly how much water to use – too much water and it will be painful. The colon hydrotherapy should not hurt at all, although you may experience a bit of gas. Also during the procedure, the therapist may massage your abdomen to help loosen impacted fecal matter.

If you plan on having colon hydrotherapy, be prepared to have several sessions. Depending on how bad your eating habits have been, you could have decades of impacted fecal matter in your colon which may take several sessions to dislodge.

Lost Weight With Gastric Bypass Amp Now Youre Regaining Fix It Fast

Writen by Kaye Bailey

I've talked to quite a few fellow gastric bypass patients recently and we all have one thing in common: About the third year after gastric bypass we get hungry. And we eat more. And weight starts to creep back on. In the worst case a patient regains so much weight a revision surgery is required to again reduce the stomach size and facilitate weight loss. In the best case, the patient catches the problem early and reverses the trend.

In my third year out when this happened to me and I saw the scale jump ten pounds I called my counselor at my bariatric center. She told me "Get Back-to-Basics immediately." She recommended that for ten days I eat like a post-op newbie. Jell-o, chicken broth, soft-cooked eggs. No solids. Lots of liquids. No snacking. Take my vitamins. Drink lots of water.

I was so terrified of regaining the weight that I followed her directions exactly. She told me, "You have already done this once when you had surgery. You certainly can do it again, and this time you are much healthier." She was right!

The first day was hell. I was hungry and crabby. The second day was not as painful. By the third day Back-to-Basics was routine. By the tenth day my weight was down 7 pounds, my body felt lighter and happier. I felt unpolluted. Best of all, my tiny pouch seemed to be tighter and less tolerant of over-filling and that's a very good thing! I was eating like a newbie again, recommitted to following the four rules and succeeding after weight loss surgery.

Now, to be honest, I've had to employ this technique more than once to get myself back on track and avoid weight regain. Sometimes I'll go Back-to-Basics for a long weekend, just to refresh and rejuvenate my body. I like the power the mindfulness of Back-to-Basics gives me, the complete awareness of my body and it's needs. I like being able to remind my mind and body of this powerful bariatric tool. I like that when I do see a weight gain I can quickly get it under control by employing past practice that I know works.

Are you in your third year and hungry? Give the Back-to-Basics a try.

Onychomycosis One Of The Many Nail Fungus Out There

Writen by Joe Leoni

Many natural changes in fingers and toenails come with age. Fine ridges, for example, may start developing from the cuticle of the nail tip. This and other similar changes are common, but they are not signs of poor health.

However, there are some nail conditions to watch out for such as small separations of the nail from the nail bed, yellow/brown color, or hardening ,crumbling or thickenings of the nail at the top edge. All these conditions are symptoms of a common fungal infection called Onychomycosis, which infects the nail bed under the surface of the nail causing thickening, roughness, discoloration and splitting of the nail.

It can be caused by a somewhat large variety of fungi and it's typically painless for several years after initial infection. But, if left untreated, the condition will worsen and it'll be unbearable to even wear shoes or walk.

Because fungi thrive in darkness, moist areas such as the inside of your shoes, Onychomycosis appears on toenails more often that fingernails. Like mold or mildew, these parasitic organisms live on dead things, which in this case is the dead nail tissue. Once the fungus is established on dead tissue, it excretes toxins into adjacent living tissue causing its death.

As this tissue dies, it provides new ground for the fungus to expand.

The risk of fungus infection of toenails is decreased using the same methods to decrease the risk of fungus infection of the skin on the feet. Here are some tips to maintain your feat dry and healthy:

1. Indoors, avoid wearing shoes and consider wearing open footwear.

2. Change shoes daily. Try alternating between at least 3 pairs of shoes allowing them time to dry out.

3. Change socks whenever they become damp.

4. Wear high top boots only when needed for work or other activities.

5. Treat every foot fungus promptly. Some fungus require daily application of anti-fungal creams to keep them away.

If the fungus still appears go to your dermatologist to prescribe you both oral and topical treatments for Onychomycosis. Newer, safer and more effective medications are currently available due to nail fungus treatment advancing significantly over the past years. These medications are generally taken for three months. During that time, the medicine incorporates into the nail tissue preventing the fungus to expand. As the nail grows out normally, The diseased nail is displaced and removed.

Listerine Toenail Fungus Treatment

Writen by David Bloom

You've heard of the mouthwash, but have you heard of the Listerine toenail fungus treatment? It seems that a lot of people are soaking their fungal toenail infections in a basin of Listerine and getting good results. Like people who use other home remedies for this unpleasant infection, people who swear by this oral rinse tried it because they were trying to avoid expensive prescription drugs and their side effects, or had tried the other treatments with no success. Apparently it worked.

If you're using Listerine for toenail fungus, be prepared to keep it up for a while – though some people claim the remedy works after soaking for 30 minutes a day for just a few days, most fungal toenail infections will take months to clear, whether you're using Listerine, vinegar, or any of the prescription drugs. It just takes a long time for the fungus to die and the new, uninfected nail to grow in. Use it every day – never skip a day – and in a month or two, you should see some healthy nail growing in. Don't stop using Listerine for toenail fungus until the entire nail is new and looks healthy and normal.

Many people find that when it comes to treating nail fungus Listerine and vinegar combined offer even faster results. Fungi do not do well in an acid environment, so adding vinegar to Listerine may give your home remedy a little extra punch, combining the acidic vinegar with whatever is in the Listerine (presumably the disinfectant) that kills the fungal infection. Some people have had good success mixing a half-and-half solution and just painting it on the infected nails several times a day.

There's no guarantee that the Listerine toenail fungus treatment will work for you. It doesn't work for everyone, and no published scientific studies have looked at the effects of using Listerine for toenail fungus, or gathered data on the number of people who used it successfully. If you have the time and the inclination to try it, however, it is certainly much cheaper than prescription drugs that can cost eight dollars a day, or even more, to use.

A solution that's safe to put in your mouth is presumably perfectly safe for soaking your feet. It might even feel good! But if you're going to try Listerine for toenail fungus, you should be aware of one potential side effect: it seems that it may turn your feet green! Temporarily.

The Top Six Factors That Cause Bad Breath

Writen by John De Jordan

Bad breath is something that most people suffer from at one time or another, the good news is there is usually a cure to get rid of this embarrassing problem. The key though is to find the cause and treat it accordingly.

The top six factors for causing bad breath are as follows.

: Bacteria build up on the tongue The major cause of bad breath is a build up of bacteria on the back of the tongue and on the under layers. This can be easily treated with a combination of tools such as oral tongue cleaners and good oral cleaning regime.

: Bad teeth Rotting teeth are an obvious cause of halitosis. If this is indeed the cause then swift dental treatment can erase bad breath overnight. Removing or treating a rotting tooth can cure the problem instantly as once the rotting part of the tooth has been identified the source of the problem will have been removed.

: Food Spicy food is a great culprit and many people are shocked because they think that bad breath caused by such food is limited to the day after consuming the foods in question. The fact is spicy food can cause bad breath for two to three days after a meal and this is why people think the cause lies elsewhere.

: Smoking This is an obvious cause of bad breath and there is not a breath treatment on the market that can combat this area of halitosis. Nicotine literally oozes from every part of your body, inside and out, so the smart way of combating this it to kick the habit.

: Tonsil stones Tonsils can hold a mass of bacteria and also tonsil stones, The combination of both is enough to set loose a mass of foul smelling odours that no amount of teeth or tongue cleaning can cure. The good news is these stones can easily be dissolved and the bacteria obliterated.

: illness It is very rare for an internal illness to cause bad breath but this is an area that should certainly be looked into. If all other methods of breath freshening have failed a doctor should obviously be consulted in order to find out the underlying cause.

The good news is that with good information then 99% of all bad breath cases can be cured. In order to find out the best form of treatment you need to obtain detailed information and find out what the cures are, Most cures can easily be obtained online and in complete confidence.

Tummy Ache Or Something More Serious

Writen by Jacob Mabille

Children often complain of stomachaches. It's a common ailment and one that children may experience after eating too much or when feeling nervous about an upcoming event. But a stomachache can signal a more serious illness.

My nine-year-old son didn't like to go to school nor did he like to sit down and eat a home cooked meal. He preferred cookies and chocolate milk rather than eating his vegetables. He always used a stomachache or headache as a ruse to get out of going to school or eating dinner. But like the boy in the story he cried wolf once too often.

One evening around dinnertime he started to complain that his stomach hurt. Since we were having stuffed peppers for dinner I figured my son's sudden stomach pains to be timed perfectly. But when I realized he was fevered and the pain actually seemed genuine, I knew something was wrong. Shortly after arriving at the hospital emergency room we soon found that my son was diagnosed with appendicitis and would have to have emergency surgery. I felt so guilty for thinking that my child was just pretending to be sick.

Appendicitis is an inflamed appendix usually resulting from a bacterial infection. The appendix is a small organ that seems to have no function, although it must have served a purpose at one time. The pain that occurs with appendicitis may be dull or sharp. It usually begins around the area of the navel then moves to the lower right hand portion of the abdomen. It may be accompanied by fever, nausea, loss of appetite and the pain becomes worse with movement. As the appendix swells and fills with pus, the chance of rupture increases. If the appendix ruptures infection can spread quickly throughout the body.

Even if your child likes to fake sick to get out of eating dinner or going to school, don't take his complaints lightly. Luckily everything worked out well for my son. His appendix was removed; the surgery went well and he healed quickly. Not to mention my son felt that the soreness was worth it since he could enjoy having a vacation from school. But I also learned a valuable lesson too. No matter what games our children may like to play, we must always pay attention to their complaints because their health is no game. If your child complains of stomach pains, fever and doesn't feel like eating call your physician immediately. It's always best to be safe and know that your child's health is protected.

Medical Billing Systems

Writen by Damian Sofsian

Medical billing system is a comprehensive system that includes all the particulars required for efficient insurance claims. Medical billing was earlier done on paper, completely manually. With the advancement of technology, electronic billing systems are introduced. In recent years, software systems perform the function of medical billing systems. Medical billing is a complicated task, in which a minute error will lead to the rejection of the insurance application. Medical billing systems assist to avoid such errors and help you create an efficient claim application without any loop holes. Modern billing systems simplify the claimants' filing process and ensure the accuracy of medical claims and patient billing.

Medical billing systems follow a systematic pattern to process the insurance claims of the patient, based on the billing information received through fax or courier. In manual systems, the claim amounts are calculated on paper. Earlier manual billing record was in the HCFA standardized form. In electronic systems, the claims are processed by a billing software system and after final cross checking, the claims are sent to insurance carriers for processing and payment. Advanced methods utilize remote data exchanges between medical billing software and the computer of the medical provider for automated filing of the processed claim. Insurance codes such as ICD-9, HCPCS, CPT and anesthesia codes are pre-installed in these systems. Modern medical billing systems work in compliance with the health insurance portability and accountability act (HIPAA).

Most medical billing systems are user friendly with many customizable tools. Modern systems also provide analysis reports on procedures performed, payments received, and accounts adjusted for any period. They can include additional medical functionalities in bills such as trip reporting for ambulance companies, transaction details for anesthesia billing etc. Electronic claim submission aids automated cash flow. Online systems help to streamline the activities from any Internet source.

Clinic Medical Billing System, SoftAid, Medisoft, MedOffice, and Medbilling are some of the popular billing systems.

Medical Billing provides detailed information on Medical Billing, Medical Billing Software, Medical Billing Services, Medical Billing Jobs and more. Medical Billing is affiliated with Medical Coding Certification.

Chronic Insomnia

Writen by Jason Gluckman

Insomnia or lack of adequate quality sleep is divided into three categories, transient, intermittent and chronic. About 10 percent of the population suffers from chronic insomnia.

Chronic insomnia is a very complex condition, and there are no simple answers to its causes. It is usually a symptom of some underlying physical or mental disease. It may be prudent to refer to specialists for help to pin down the root cause.

Physical diseases like arthritis, asthma, Parkinson's disease, hyperthyroidism, prostate problem, degenerative neurological disorders, GERD, kidney problem, heart failure, rhinitis and various types of sleep apnea are causes of chronic insomnia. Mental health disorders like stress, anxiety, grief, depression, schizophrenia, panic disorder, mania and acute psychosis are also causes. Behavior patterns like smoking, alcohol, caffeine, shift work and medications sometimes contribute to chronic insomnia.

Chronic insomnia needs holistic management rather than a simple treatment. Health professionals can help and guide, but the patient is the one who should manage the condition. It is important to treat the underlying physical or mental disorder first. Treatments include modifying life style habits; creating a correct environment for sleeping; mild aerobics exercises; snacks before bedtime containing tryptophan found in milk, figs, bananas, dates and tuna; avoiding foods containing tyramine and medically supervised drug therapy.

Other methods include relaxation therapy, hypnotism, yoga, meditation, music and aromatherapy, recondition therapy (insomniac is allowed in bed only when sleepy), and sleep restriction therapy (sleeping habit's are studied and bed is only for sleep time, gradually increasing with therapy), and cognitive behavior therapy, which seeks to correct the perception of the patient of inadequate sleep.

If chronic insomnia is not managed properly, it can lead to many serious consequences. Driving and handling machinery becomes dangerous, as sluggishness and dizziness are common among insomniacs. Patients experience problems at work because of poor performance, low energy level and lack of concentration. They also experience problems with family and friends, as irritability make the patient flare up for no reason.

Insomnia provides detailed information about insomnia, cause of insomnia, chronic insomnia, effects of insomnia and more. Insomnia is the sister site of Male Menopause.

Keeping Fit For Little To No Cash

Writen by Kadence Buchanan

Do you want to have a more firm physique, but lack the money or simply don't want to attend a fitness center? Well, there's good news. There are plenty of exercises that you can do around the house to keep yourself in tip top shape. One important basic guideline for keeping in shape is to walk as often as you possibly can. Simply walking around the house while you're on the phone is one easy way to help add some work-out into your life. When in the office or at school, take the stairs as opposed to the elevator. Climbing stairs is a very aerobic activity that can really pay off when done regularly. Sit-ups and push-ups can be conveniently done while facing downtime at home; a commercial break from TV provides ample opportunity for you to get a set of these exercises done. Jumping jacks are an oft-overlooked method of keeping in shape that requires no equipment as well. If you'd like to build muscle, you can make simple weights out of empty milk gallons. These weights can be used in a host of different exercises that can help to build muscle. Another thing to consider is the possibility of a pull-up bar in the household. Helping to keep your arms and chest strong, any overhead pipe or ledge that is secure enough to hold your weight can be used for pull-ups.

In addition to helping you improve your physique, regular exercise has many beneficial effects on your mental health. Depression can be warded off sometimes simply by maintaining an exercise routine. The United States Government has even stated that, quote, "We now have evidence to support the claim that exercise is related to positive mental health as indicated by relief in symptoms of depression and anxiety." A test performed by researchers at Duke University found that people with cases of depression that began an exercise regimen 3 times a week overcame their depression with no anti-depressants at a rate of 60 percent! That research is proof positive that in addition to the physical benefits of exercise, there is a strong mental benefit. If you are just beginning a workout regimen, it may be a good idea to check in with your doctor for a physical. A simple physical can help you to ensure that you're getting the proper program started for your body.

Eczema Treatments Whats Available

Writen by Claire Bowes

Millions of people suffer from eczema, with cases ranging from extreme and debilitation to mild and annoying. Treatments for eczema range from simple lifestyle changes to prescription medications. Some of the most common treatments for eczema are reviewed below.

Perhaps the simplest treatments for eczema involve simple lifestyle changes. The dry, itchy skin of eczema can be greatly alleviated with several small adjustments to your skin care regime. First, take cooler baths and showers. Hot water can be very drying for the skin, so cooling down your showers will help your skin retain more moisture. Avoid harsh, drying soaps and detergents. Gentle, non-scented moisturizing soaps and mild detergents help the skin avoid dryness and eliminate some of the irritants that can aggravate eczema.

Moisturizing the areas affected by eczema is essential. Moisturize often and liberally. Treat irritated areas with 1% hydrocortisone cream to relive itching and irritation.

There are many more natural, home remedy treatments for eczema that have also had some success in relieving the itching and flaking of eczema. Placing an ice pack on the affected area can relive itching, as do oatmeal baths, like Aveeno. Another home remedy is treating an oozing patch of eczema with milk. Soak a cotton ball or piece of gauze in cold milk and apply to the itchy area. Reapply two to three times and then rinse to alleviate itching.

Humidifying your home is another great solution. By adding more moisture to the air, you're adding more moisture to your skin. Purchasing a humidifier can help prevent the excess drying or ezcema.

Be especially careful with your laundry products. Harsh detergents and chemical fabric softeners can aggravate eczema. Switch to unscented, mild detergent and fabric softeners that work in the rinse cycle to minimize irritation.

Another popular herbal remedy for eczema is Evening Primrose oil. Taken orally, this herbal remedy seems to alleviate some of the symptoms of eczema, possibly because of its high concentration of an omega-6 essential fatty acid.

There are several simple lifestyle changes and remedies to help alleviate the symptoms of eczema. Incorporating several of these tips into your skin care regime may help guide your eczema into a state of remission.

Ghee The Better Butter

Writen by Bethany Klug

Butter is back after being banished in favor of margarine. Margarine contains trans-fats that damage artery walls setting the stage for heart disease. Butter isn't perfect. It contains milk solids that cause inflammation leading to heart disease, arthritis, asthma, ear infections, skin diseases and more. These solids burn at low heat, leaving an awful taste and look behind. Butterfat is a good source of saturated and monounsaturated fat, as well as fatty acids with anti-microbial and anti-cancer properties. Always choose organic unsalted butter. Conventional butter is a concentrated source of antibiotics, hormones and pesticides. Salt hides rancidity when older cream is used.

Enter ghee, the staple of Ayurvedic medicine from India. Ghee is pure butterfat without the pesky milk solids. It tolerates high heat, but becomes soft solid at room temperature for spreading. Substitute ghee for butter or oil in recipes. People with dairy sensitivities generally can eat ghee.

You can buy ghee, but it is easy to make at home. Get a canning jar with the two-part lid, some cheesecloth and some organic unsalted butter. Boil the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. It will make lots popping sounds. Meanwhile, cut a 6 inch square piece of double layer cheese cloth. Place it over the opening of the canning jar. Tighten the rim of the lid over the cheesecloth, pushing down on the cheesecloth to slacken it a bit. When the popping sounds quiet to one every second or two, carefully pour the hot liquid through the cheesecloth into the canning jar. Use hot pads to move the jar to a safe place to cool. The amber liquid will turn yellow-white as it cools. Remove the rim and the cheesecloth, assemble the lid and close the jar. Four sticks of butter make 12 ounces of ghee. Store at room temperature. Ghee has a long shelf life, but never lasts long in our kitchen!

How To Train Your Brain To Keep You Healthy And Happy

Writen by Graham Harris

When you are unhappy what do you do? Do you go out for a meal? Go to the cinema? The theatre, perhaps? Do you go shopping? Perhaps you like a drink to overcome your unhappiness. Or do you get a buzz from jogging or going to the gym?

Whatever it is scientist are in the process of proving that internal change is the only thing that can give you health and happiness. Everything else is an illusion.

What does this mean?

Your brain is the only thing that can keep you healthy and happy.

Richard Davidson, a neuroscientist at the University of Wisconsin and Jon Kabat-Zinn from the University of Massachusetts Medical Centre have just completed some interesting research that can actually be of benefit to you and me and the way we run our lives.

They took a group of 41 stressed, but otherwise healthy, individuals working in a biotechnology firm in Wisconsin. 25 were taught meditation. In this case: mindfulness meditation. The group met for a 2.5 to 3 hour meditation class each week. After six weeks they all attended a seven hour meditation retreat. In addition each member was asked to meditate, at home, for one hour a day using a guided meditation tape.

The other 16 were held as a control group and did not receive meditation training until the study was completed.

At the end of the eight week programme, in November, they also gave all the participants a flu jab. And guess what. "The members of the meditation group had a significant increase in antibody titers" in other words they have less chance of catching flu.

The bottom line appears to be. If you want to have good health and overcome the day by day blues and maintain happiness learn to meditate. When you meditate you change the way your brain operates.

In addition, they found, the more you practice meditation the better your daily performance.

What we found is that the long time practitioners showed brain activation on a scale we have never seen before. Their mental practice is having an effect on the brain in the same way golf or tennis practice will enhance performance.'' It demonstrates, that the brain is capable of being trained and physically modified in ways few people can imagine. --(Richard Davidson)

So give yourself the space each day to train your brain. It works.

Good Luck

Achieve A Faster Tan With Tanning Bed Lotions And Protect Your Skin At The Same Time

Writen by Tim Gorman

Tanning beds are a great to keep yourself looking good and to keep that tan all year round but you need to make sure that you are taking care of your skin so that it will look good and not get burned. It is also a good idea to make sure that you follow the manufacturers instructions on how often you should use the bed and not to overdo it, as this is also not good for your skin. Fortunately, there are some tanning bed lotions that you can use to actually help you to get a tan quicker and that can be beneficial to your skin because you won't need to rely on using a tanning bed as often in order to achieve and maintain a natural looking tan.

Tanning bed lotions are formulated, not only to protect your skin, but also to help you to get a tan more easily. They work by reacting with the rays from the tanning bed to help the natural coloring of you skin to tan more quickly. This is a great way to help you to spend less time on the tanning bed while still obtaining the same results. Most of the tanning bed lotions are also good at protecting the skin from the harmful rays of the beds while still making sure that you get a good tan. They also very often contain vitamin E oil, which is very good for the skin and will help to keep your skin looking good and will also make sure that it is not as prone to the wrinkles that can be caused by prolonged use of a commercial tanning bed. Many of the tanning bed lotions also contain other ingredients such Aloe Vera oil to help the skin look good.

When you are choosing a tanning bed lotion make sure that you look at the sun protection factor that is on the bottle but do not choose the lowest one. There is no point in buying something to protect your skin and then making sure that it does not protect it too much. The lotion will still help you to get a good tan even if it is a high protection factor and you skin will be a lot better as well. A lot of the tanning bed lotions have very exotic manes and scents that remind you of anything from a tropical beach to your favorite food but the important thing is that they make sure that your skin is protected and that they help your skin to tan evenly and quickly so that you look good and you do not have to spend too much time under that tanning bed.

Candida Albicans

Writen by Stewart Hare

Candida albicans is a type of yeast that is present in the gut, the digestive enzymes and friendly bacteria usually kept it in check. If the balance of the microflora or secretions of digestive enzymes in the gut are upset by factors such as stress or taking antibiotics and steroids, then the Candida can take advantage and multiply causing Candidiasis and allergies.

When a substance is in a mycelial form it means that it puts out filaments, when the conditions in the gut are good for candida albicans to begin to grow and multiple it grows in a mycelial form because it is a fungus. The filaments of candida albicans grow into and onto the bowel wall, as it grows it penetrates the bowel wall just like mould or fungus does on a piece of old food. As the candida albicans grows and penetrates the bowel wall it damages it, making it permeable which then lets pieces of undigested foodstuff through into the blood stream which then eventually enters the liver. The exposure of the liver and immune system to incomplete molecules create many allergy problems. As the yeast grows in the bowel it creates fermented gas called acetaldehyde which turns sugar and starch into alcohol. Women are more prone to Candida albicans than men; it can show up as a variety of symptoms affecting any body systems, these symptoms range from abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhoea, wind, bloating, indigestion, heartburn, rectal itching to recurrent vaginal yeast infection, nasal congestion, bad breath, skin rashes, allergies, chemical sensitivities, depression, headaches, dizziness, muscle aches, and sinus problems.

20 symptoms of Candidiasis are:

1. Headaches
2. Cystitis (infected bladder)
3. Mood swings
4. Vaginitis (inflammation of vagina or thrush)
5. Fungal infections (e.g. athletes foot)
6. Bad breath
7. Extensive food allergies
8. Anal itching
9. Feeling ill after eating yeast or sugary foods
10. Nasal itch or congestion
11. Craving for sugary things
12. Abdominal distension or bloating
13. Diarrhoea, constipation or both
14. Depression
15. Fatigue
16. Poor memory
17. Lack of sexual desire
18. Craving for bread or alcohol
19. Menstrual cramp or pain
20. Muscle aches

Follow Homemade Beauty Tips For Beauty Is In Natures Grips

Writen by David Maillie

Beautiful people of all ages have maintained that beauty is not as much reflected in the rosy, youthful look of the skin. When questioned about the secret to their beautiful skins, they have always attributed it to a healthy lifestyle and a few homemade beauty tips. Healthy lifestyle and homemade beauty tips are mostly based on the refreshing, detoxifying effects of natural and herbal products with the former fortifying the system's internal strength and the later protecting outwardly.

Homemade beauty tips, as such, are based on judicial choice of herbal ingredients for external skin care. Some home-based natural skin care tips would be as follows:

• Buttermilk/cream and yogurt make excellent skin cleansers.

• After-bath application of almond oil is undoubtedly a great treat for the skin – the suppleness and glow it brings to the skin is unmatched by even the very best of moisturizers.

• Regular application of honey or yogurt makes the skin soft and has a gentle bleaching effect.

• Sea salt/sugar mixed with olive oil works as an extraordinary at-home body exfoliation preparation.

• Different natural and herbal products like Aloe Vera, Basil, Chamomile, Lavender, Marshmallow, Neem, Oatmeal, Sandalwood, Tea tree oil, Turmeric, Witch Hazel, etc. used as facial packs often help to dispose dead cells and impurities lodged in the skin to unclog pores. Side by side playing the roles of cleansers, the natural produces and elements strike water-oil balance of the skin.

If you find it too troublesome to go for natural skin treatments, the safest choice will be the TCA peels. The ready-to-be-used medically approved TCA peels have an answer for almost all skin problems – right from acnes to wrinkles and skin pigmentations to dryness. With long lasting effects, TCA peels give back the skin its natural healthfulness. With no harmful side effects (nearing the gentleness of homemade beauty tips), TCA peels can be safely used for teen-age skin problems.

Two is undoubtedly 'company' but three is not always 'crowd'. TCA peels, balanced diets and a few homemade beauty tips make enviable company when it comes to revitalizing the skin. Therefore, surrender to the cares of the threesome and be the proud possessor of a youthful skin and look!

Did I Really Eat That How To Quickly Recover From A Binge

Writen by Jackie Stanley

At one time or another, we have all awakened to the sight of empty soda bottles, pizza boxes, candy bar wrappers, or ice cream containers strewn about our bedroom, den or kitchen and asked ourselves: "Did I really eat all that?" Rather than accepting binges as temporary relapses, we tend to react by beating ourselves up for falling off the wagon and failing to follow through our healthy eating plan.

Here are a few concrete actions you can take after a binge to successfully coach yourself from relapse to recovery in as little time as possible:

Go Ahead and Vent!

Give yourself 10 minutes to vent about your setback. Set a timer to make certain you don't get carried away, and then use this time to whine about why you can't eat whatever you want. Complain about how much you hate to exercise. Blame your mother and rave on about why it is not your fault that you like ice cream. Give voice to everything you are feeling and thinking – expressing anything that might be contaminating your brain. But when the 10 minutes are up and the timer goes off, stop venting and move on.

Focus on Facts, Not Faults

Writing a clear and objective description of what you ate during a binge can help you put an end to the blame game. Try to focus only on what you ate and not how you felt about what you ate. Focusing too intently on our feelings can sometimes interfere with out ability to move forward, because they can distort our objectivity. A written description can serve as a window through which we can assess our behavior without making judgments about ourselves. When we can begin to make distinctions between who we are and what and how much we eat, binges will lose their power to derail our weight loss and healthy living goals.

Reframe Your Binge

Reframing or putting a positive spin on your overeating incident doesn't mean that you don't accept responsibility for your actions. It means that you look at the experience with a positive, constructive attitude. For instance, rather than telling yourself that you have lost your way, reframe the incident by telling yourself that you merely took a detour. Remind yourself that no matter how much you ate, your binge did not cause the world to stop spinning. Life will go on, and so will your journey toward weight loss and healthy living.

Teeth Whitening Products Balancing Risks And Rewards

Writen by Tomas P

Who wouldn't want to look and feel young and healthy for just a few years longer? From moisturizing creams to nail polish the list of beauty products is long. Tooth whitening is just a small piece of the puzzle. At-home whitening products make a whiter smile possible for many of us. People who otherwise cannot afford expensive dentist visits can whiten their teeth for a little more than a haircut.

But there is a big difference between tooth bleaching kits and other cosmetic products. Teeth don't heal. No matter how many times we hear - "Teeth whitening is safe" - we remain cautious. That is why health conscious men and women spend more time learning about different teeth whitening options. The reward is a brighter smile; the tools are powerful bleaching chemicals. However more whitening power usually means higher risks. Life is a balancing act and tooth bleaching is no different.

The goal is to find a happy compromise; a product that provides sufficient whitening power and ensures safety at the same time. Balancing whitening power with safety is not an easy task. There are many things to consider. Oral health is the first and probably the most important factor. Individuals with less than perfect dental health should take less risk. It can mean less powerful whitening gels or a visit to the dentist. Teeth whitening strips are less effective but are considered safer than tray based whitening methods.

However there is good news to those who want maximum safety. When it comes to tooth whitening time can substitute power. In other words the same whitening results can be achieved with less powerful gels and longer application times.

The following is a list of at-home teeth whitening methods starting with the safest option:

  • Whitening toothpaste
  • Tooth whitening strips
  • Custom fit whitening trays with low concentration gel
  • Thermoform whitening trays with low concentration gel
  • Custom fit trays with high concentration gel
  • Thermoform trays with high concentration gel

There is no single best way to teeth whitening. A short self evaluation may help with the selection.

3 Easy Dieting Success Tips

Writen by Beverley Brooke

1. Drink 8-10 glasses of water each day

Okay, for many people this is a big problem. Water doesn't taste all that great generally because water doesn't really "taste" like anything. Drinking water 8 to 10 times each day gets easier the more you actually do it. It is simply a matter of conditioning your taste buds, and yourself, so that it becomes easier to do. Once you get started, you will begin to crave water.

To begin with, you should drink a glass of water in the morning first thing, before you eat. This is probably the easiest glass you will drink all day and it will help you remember to drink water all day long. Better yet, why not drink two glasses?

If you really cannot bear the taste of water, try using a water purifying pitcher or filter. You can also add a few drops of lemon or lime to your water – but no sugar or sweetener! Ice also helps.

Check out flavored waters on the market, too. Just keep an eye out for additives.

2. Eat breakfast

Do not skip breakfast. If you need to go to bed a little earlier so that you can get up 20 minutes earlier each morning – do it! Breakfast is so important to your good health and to weight control. According to Dr. Barbara Rolls a professor of nutrition at Penn State University, "Your metabolism slows while you sleep, and it doesn't rev back up until you eat again."

Eating breakfast is not only good for overall weight loss, it will help you stay on track with your diet the rest of the day. You are more likely to binge on something sweet and in the "bread" group if you skip breakfast.

You can always keep a couple of hard-boiled eggs in the fridge or some high-fiber, low starch fruit around. If you plan to eat fruit at all during the day, breakfast is the perfect time to do it.

3. Eat at least 3 meals and snacks each day

This can be one of the hardest adjustments to make. After all, you are busy! You already have a "full-plate". When do you have time to worry about filling your plate with more frequent meals?

Just like eating breakfast will increase your metabolism, so will eating more often. This will also help you curb your bad-carb intake by making sure that your snacks are planned and occur regularly throughout the day.

Really, it will just take a minimal investment of planning time at the grocery store and at home each morning before you head out for the day to make some healthy food choices and prepare a few healthy snacks and meals.

The Ins And Outs Of Proper Nutrition

Writen by Beverley Brooke

Secretly we all want just a few things in life, none the least of which is to live a life that is healthy and energetic. One way to accomplish this is to eat a well balanced diet that fuels the body to take on life's challenges.

Did you know that one of the best things you can do to improve your overall health and well being is to eat a diet that is well rounded and nutritious?

Diet can make the difference between feeling great and feeling just o.k. But how do you know which foods will propel you to health and well being?

Proper nutrition is easy. In fact, all you need to do to ensure your health and well being is follow five simple steps, outlined below.

Top Five Tips for Maintaining Optimal Nutrition

•Eat a well balanced diet. This means you have to incorporate foods from each of the four food groups.

•Adopt the phrase moderation. At no time should you consider some foods 'bad' and other foods 'good'. Rather, all foods can be nourishing if they are eaten in moderation. Chocolate cake will not make you fat if you don't eat it every day for dinner!

•Take a multi-vitamin. Even the healthiest dieter may not get all of the vitamins and nutrients they need from diet alone. Why? Our bodies aren't always able to absorb nutrients efficiently from the foods we eat. Thus it is important to take a multi-vitamin and mineral supplement daily.

•Get enough sleep. Sleep deprivation can wreak havoc on your diet, and even contribute to weight gain.

•Exercise daily. Even 10 minutes of routine exercise can help your body maintain its peak fitness level.

Excessive consumption of alcohol can also wreak havoc on your diet. Alcohol inhibits the body's ability to absorb vital nutrients, such as calcium. In addition, alcohol in the evening can interfere with your sleep cycle.

Other things you can do to improve you nutrition include incorporating lean proteins and fish into your diet. Fatty fishes including salmon provide key nutrients called "essential fatty acids" which help your brains abilityto function properly.

Nutrition is a choice. For you to be the healthiest person you can be, it is vital that you make choices that are good for you and your well being. Adopting just a couple of the strategies above will help you tremendously on your journey toward optimal health.
